lizards are great pets

Lizards aren’t entirely self-sufficient.

You won’t have to deal with foul odors or stinky litter pans.

Lizards want to be left alone most of the time.

No loud sounds. Your pet won't wake you up by whining.

RESPONSIBILITY

Long-term Commitment

Lizards can live up to 20 years. Your pet may well outlive you. You must be sure that you will not get tired of the reptile and you are ready to shed it, care for it and feed it.

CARE

Feeding & Treatment

Most lizards are omnivores. They eat insects, plants, adults can eat small animals. You should understand that if a reptile gets sick, there may not be many vets in your city who know how to treat lizards.

EQUIPMENT

Vivariums & Heating

Lizards should be kept in a vivarium (dry aquarium) of appropriate size. The reptile should display normal activity and thermoregulate properly in its new home. Also, reptiles require a heat source.

"My lizard's name is Gioconda, and I don't keep her in a vivarium all the time. Gioconda is my best friend and companion. I like talking to her and taking her for a walk.”
